A list of personal and medical information of patients was found during a data breach incident in Letterkenny University Hospital last year, a new report has revealed.
The incident, reported by the Irish Mirror, took place in the hospital in May 2022.
In a separate incident at LUH last December, a member of hospital staff inadvertently discussed a patient’s health data with another patient.
The cases are among 500 data protection breaches which were recorded by the HSE last year.
The HSE told the newspaper that it manages all data breaches in line with legislation and HSE policy.
