No ‘flies’ on fisherman after they raise €3,200 for Creeslough Fund

There are certainly no ‘flies’ on pals Willy Darragh and James Tobin when it comes to helping other les fortunate than themselves.

But the keen anglers went a step further than looking out for neighbours or friends with their most recent good deed.

The pair had 400 unused salmon flies which they decided to sell in two lots.

The results of the sale means that there’ll probably be a lot more salmon caught this year.

Now what it certainly means is that the Creeslough Fund will be £2940.00 (€3200.00) better off than to the sale of the two lots.

Willy and James are pictured above presenting Fr. John Joe Duffy with a cheque for the proceeds from the sale of the flies to friends and contacts across the globe.

Willy said he felt that they might be helpful towards the disaster fund in Creeslough.

He made that idea a reality through no lack of work and drive on his own behalf.

Willy said he would simply like to thank all the people who put their hands in their pockets to buy the raffle tickets and help to add to the disaster fund.
