Tragic Strabane siblings Dan and Christine McKane to be buried together

Siblings Dan and Christine McKane, who lost their lives in Thursday’s Aughnacloy road tragedy, will be buried together on Monday.

Christine McKane, her brother Dan McKane and their aunt Julia McSorley from nearby Newtownstewart died when their minibus collided with a lorry on the A5 Tullyvar Road, Aughnacloy on Thursday morning past.

The family had been returning home to Strabane, Co. Tyrone, from another aunt’s Funeral in England when the accident happened.

Christine (aged 49) was a much-loved mum of three, and a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Danny and Róise. Dan (aged 54) was a father of two.

Funeral Arrangements for Julia are to be announced at a later time.

Arrangements: Dan and Christine’s remains will repose at the McKane Family Home, 29, Innisfree Gardens, Strabane on Saturday (April 29th) from 5.30 p.m.

Funeral from there on Monday (May 1st) at 11.15 a.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane at 12 o’clock.

Interment afterwards in Strabane Cemetery.
