Gardaí in Sligo are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body last night in what they say are unexplained circumstances.
RTE News is reporting the discovery was made in a house in St John’s Terrace in the town shortly after 8.30pm.
The body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved for technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Gardaí say that the office of the State Pathologist has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date.
The result of the post-mortem will determine the course of the garda investigation.
