A Donegal lady who was on the first ever Ireland women’s soccer team is to appear on the Late Late Show tonight.
Geraldine McGlinchey, from Castlefin, was on the history making XI that represented the country in 1972.
This team represented Ireland on 15th of May 1973 when Geraldine was only 15 years and 212 days old, making her the youngest ever Irish International footballer!
They never received their international caps, however, they will finally be presented with them today, followed by a special appearance alongside Ryan Tubridy tonight.
“Congratulations Geraldine on receiving your deserved recognition and I can safely say we’ll all be watching with pride tonight,” said local Sinn Fein Councillor, Gary Doherty.
