Structural works are due to begin on the Arbatt Bridge in Cloghan this July following a year-long closure.
The bridge, which is in the Stranorlar area, partially collapsed last February during a period of flooding.
The Department of Transport granted €70,000 for the bridge under the regional road bridge rehabilitation programme.
Cllr Patrick McGowan received confirmation this week that tender documents are now being prepared with view to advertising on eTenders in early/mid-May. It is expected that a contractor will be on-site in July.
The project has already undergone an appropriate assessment which determined that the proposed repair works will not adversely affect the River Finn.
