The Doochary Development committee in the Rosses has issued a public appeal after a placename stone was found smashed to pieces.
The stone, which said Failte An Ducharaidh, appears to have been struck by a car.
The stone was located at a picnic area at the top of the corkscrew entering the village. It was erected by well-known community volunteer Manus Elliott.
“It is such a shame that whoever has damaged it has not had the courtesy to report the damage,” said a post on social media.
“Anybody with any information should contact the Garda station in Dungloe as this has been reported.”
