There has been an outpouring of grief and support for the family of Leanne Stapleton, who passed away in North Carolina.
Leanne, aged 40, is the much-loved daughter of Susan Molloy of Kilclooney, near Ardara, and of Kevin Stapleton of Kerry.
The young mother died following a lifelong battle with an asthmatic condition.
She was recently diagnosed with a serious heart condition and suffered a major cardiac arrest that caused her to be hospitalised and on life support for 14 days.
It was Leanne’s wish to be buried in Donegal Town, next to her grandmother Lila.
She is being brought home with the help of The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. A GoFundMe has also been set up to help fund the repatriation and funeral costs.
Leanne is survived by her son, Ronan, her father Kevin, mother Susan and stepmother Irene.
“The family would sincerely appreciate any financial support to deal with ongoing medical and legal expenses,” said GoFundMe organiser Margaret Pelc.
