Arson not ruled out as cause of Convoy house fire

Gardaí say they have not ruled out the possibility that a house fire in Convoy was started deliberately.

Emergency services attended the scene of a fire at a derelict house on the village’s main street on Sunday morning after 3am.

Fire services extinguished the blaze and thankfully nobody was in the house or nobody was injured.

“We haven’t ruled out the possibility that this fire may have been started deliberately. We are asking anybody with any relevant information to contact gardaí in Letterkenny on 0749167100,” spokesperson Garda Grainne Doherty said.

Anyone with dashcam footage from the area, taken on 28th May from 2.45am and 3.30am is also asked to make it available to gardaí.
