‘Moderate’ thunderstorm warning issued for Donegal

A ‘moderate’ thunderstorm warning has been issued for Donegal this afternoon.

Met Éireann says the thunderstorms will bring frequent lightning, heavy downpours, gusty winds and a chance of hail. There is also a possibility of localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.

The warning comes into effect from 12 noon and is valid until 11pm tonight. 

Other affected counties include Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Connacht.
