Milford Athletic Club has been given the green light for a new running track.
The track, which will be named in honour of Hugo Duggan, will be constructed at their grounds on Moyle Road.
“This is the first hurdle cleared in the long process and there will be higher hurdles and challenges to clear in the months and years ahead,” a Milford AC spokesperson said.
The club thanked members, the local community and the wider athletics community in supporting their fundraising draw last year which resulted in them being able to purchase the required land.
“The club is confident of relying on the above communities for continued and needed support in the future and also on local and national funding agencies.
Meanwhile, we will take one day and one challenge at a time and have belief in the motto of ‘many small steps lead to the top’.”
