If it’s a slice of nostalgia you’re after Blake’s Bar in Letterkenny this Wednesday night is the place.
Mickey Dawson, the legend in his own living room in Beechwood Avenue, is back from New Jersey.
The one-time punk (yep that’s him above) owns the well-known Cottage Bar in Teaneck.
A dedicated Liverpool fan, young Michael also owns a fine collection of vinyl.
Blakes proprietor Kevin Blake thought it would be a good idea to invite young Michael into his back yard and take everyone on a trip down memory lane.
Mickey has promised those who turn up a diet of “musical punk from 77 stuff, second wave ’82 true punk, ska and the odd new wave and reggae tune.”
“I was thinking of playing Ghost Town over and over again like the Father Ted episode to see how long it would take before someone clicked,” he laughed.
But above all else he promised a good catch up with plenty of friends and some good craic.
Wednesday night. Blake’s Bar. Be there or stay at home watching Mrs Brown’s Boys d’Movie on RTE at 9.35pm……
