Natasha Adams wins Vitality Membership Lisburn Half Marathon

Congratulations to Natasha Adams on taking top honours in the 40th installment of the Vitality Membership Lisburn Half Marathon last week.  

It was a wonderful performance in challenging conditions.

Glenswilly GAA 5K

Glenswilly GAA club hosted their annual 5 km road race last week.

The event was organised by LAC member and former Minor Board Chairman for Glenswilly GAA club, Naoise Enright, and the popular event drew quite a crowd.

The first club male to cross the line was John McCallion in a time of 15:29 thereby finishing in 2nd place while Nakita Burke was the first female to finish in a time of 16:07 and in so doing winning the women’s race.

Danny Mooney finished in third place in 15:56, Charlie O’Donnell in 16:03, Philip McGee in 16:25, Michael Harkin 17:26, Liam Tinney in 18:08, Darren Price in 18:19 and Cian Friel in 18:19, Caolan Spratt in 18:20, Kieran Gallagher in 18:23, Enda McLaughlin in 18:33, Shauna McGeehan in 18:34, Kevin Ferry in 18:54, Barry Mackey in 18:57, Dessie Shiels in 19:00, Anna Russell in 19:06, Bryan Kelly in 19:20, Eimear Wiseman in 19:21, Mark Nee in 19:22, Adrian Callaghan in 19:24, Paul McMonagle in 19:37, Paul Toner in 19:46, Stephen Woods in 19:58, Stephen Shiels in 20:08, Peter Gallagher 20:16, Gary Price in 20:17, PJ McMenamin 20:35, Fintan Smith 20:37, Kevin McGee 21:01, Paul Sweeney 21:13, Derek Campbell 21:16, John Wilson 21:33, Marie Boyle 21:39, Gary Kearns 21:40, Denis Shields 21:52, Chris McMenamin 22:17, Darren Beecroft 22:38, Pauline Sweeney 22:58, Mairead Cullen 23:45, Richard Raymond 24:34 and Liam Wiseman 26:28. 

Soon to be an LAC member Maura Liddy ran her first 5km at the Glenswilly 5km, well done Maura.

Congratulations to Sheldon Romeo who performed in the NI/Ulster Championships in Belfast recording a personal best in the 200m.

LAC meets Tuesday 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run. All runs start at the Aura.  All levels catered for and encouraged.

Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 5.45pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny. 

The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend. Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
