Finn Harps avoided the proverbial banana skin when they beat Leinster Senior League outfit Kilbarrack Utd by a single goal in the first Round of the FAI Cup at Greendale Road in Dublin.

Dave Rogers’ side was unchanged from the team which battled and beat high-flying Cobh Ramblers last week apart from one name – Rory Kelly.
The Buncrana man, a new signing, replaced Tim Hiemer in nets with the German shot-stopper injured.
The only goal of the game came courtesy of another new signing Max Hutchison in the 23rd minute when his snap shot deflected off a Kilbarrack defender into the net.
Harps didn’t look as impressive as they had against Cobh and Kilbarrack had at least two good chances to level the game.
Dave Rogers will be happy to get out of Dublin not having to face a replay with his thought very much in the away game to basement club Kerry next weekend.
