Finn Harps have confirmed the legendary Keith Cowan has departed the club.

The Ramelton man returned in December after three seasons away from Finn Park with Dungannon Swifts, Glentoran and with Drogheda United.

Cowan first signed for the Harps in 2004 under Felix Healy and has made over 240 appearances. The defender was club captain up until his departure after the 2019 season.

“Keith and his wife Edel have recently welcomed their baby girl into the world and, along with work commitments, it has been agreed that his family must take priority. Thanks for everything Keith,” a club statement read.

In a statement on Twiter, Cowan said: “Regrettably my spell 2nd  @FinnHarpsFC has come to an end. It has been a difficult decision, but one that has been made in the interest of both the team and myself. I did not want to give the role any less than it deserves. However, family and work commitments must take precedence.”
