Tragic young crash victim to be laid to rest on Thursday

The funeral details have been released for tragic crash victim, Connor McGinley (19).

Conor, also known as DJ Curly, lost his life this morning when the car he was driving struck a pole outside the village of Kerrykeel shortly after 3:30am.

Another young man who was a passenger in the car was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, but his injuries are not understood to be serious.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and road conditions were said to have been poor at the time due to heavy rainfall.

Mr McGinley’s remains were removed to the mortuary at the hospital earlier today where a post-mortem will be carried out.

His family have since released details of his funeral arrangements.

Late of 2 Quay Road, Drumbern, Milford, his remains will leave from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Carnamuggagh, Letterkenny, on Tuesday, August 8, at 4pm going to his home. Funeral Mass on Thursday, at 12 noon in St Peter’s Church, Milford, with burial afterwards in Milford Cemetery.

House strictly private from 10pm until 10am, and on the morning of the funeral.

Connor is survived by his loving parents, Ennis and Noelle, brother Dennis, cousin Caitlin, grandfather Patrick McGinley, uncles Michael McGinley and Joe McElhinney, aunts Nellie McDermott, Caroline McElhinney, Kathy McElhinney, Siobhan McElhinney, Melissa McElhinney and Sinead McElhinney, cousins, extended family and friends.
