National: 5-year-old killed in quad tragedy named

This is the little five-year-old boy killed in a quad bike accident in West Kerry on Sunday.

George Francis Freddie Davenport was involved in the accident on Sunday afternoon last on a private property in Castlegregory, Co Kerry.

The boy is understood to have been back from the UK with his immediate family visiting close relatives in the area over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene as the alarm was raised.

Tragically, the boy passed away from his injuries a short time later.

Little George to rest in a private burial on Wednesday, August 9, at his grandparents’ home in Cloghane.

According to his funeral notice, George is survived by his mother, father and three siblings and will also be greatly missed by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, relatives and friends.

George will repose at his grandparents’ home in Liscarney, Cloghane from 2pm to 9pm today, Wednesday, after which a private funeral will taken place.
