Donegal Gardaí are urging pet lovers to place ID tags on their beloved animals.

With property marking in mind over the summer months, they currently have a number of stray/lost dogs and cats reported and or left in Garda stations.

“Pets are part of the family unit and when they go missing it can cause great anxiety,” said Sergeant Paul Wallace, Donegal Crime Prevention Officer.

“Owners are requested to consider placing and engraved tag on your pets collar with either name/contact number and/or Eircode to assist identification contact and, most importantly, speedy return.”
