Rosses Athletic Club are on a high after successes at the Northern Ireland Masters Track and Field Championships, the Frank Duffy 10 miler, Kildarragh fair 5k and the Brockagh 6k.
The Masters athletes took centre stage at the Northern Ireland Masters Track and Field Championships at the Mary Peters Track in Belfast. Nicole O’Donnell and Aidan Gillespie both medalled, following on from their success last weekend at the All Ireland Masters.
Nicole won the 100m title and also medalled in the 200m, setting a new PB of 27.27sec into a strong head wind. Aidan completed the double again this weekend, winning both the long jump and high jump.

In the Phoenix Park in Dublin, the Frank Duffy 10 miler was being run as a lead in event to the Dublin Marathon.
Maria Mulligan continued her great form taking second place in this prestigious event in a time of 1:01:10 just behind Belfast athlete Caitlyn Harvey from Roadrunner AC.

Locally in Creslough, a number of athletes made the journey for the Kildarragh fair 5k where a testing course ensured a good test for some.
First Rosses male back in a determined 19:24 was Patrick Trimble. Declan Gallagher fought hard to the line in 20:12 and Norman McClean made the late decision to give it a crack, finishing quick in 22:57.
First lady was Rosses Bernie Boyle in 21:26, followed by Martina Mulhern in 22:49, Rosie Lynch in 25:51, Karen Devenney in 26:48 and Angela Trimble finishing in 32:07.
At the Brockagh 6k another hilly course did not stop David McKelvey being first home in 20:57, with second male Paul McKelvey 21:25, followed closely by Patrick Trimble in 22:00. Declan Gallagher was fourth in 22:13 and Denis Boner in 24:40. In the ladies, Cathy Breslin won her section in 27:17.
