Anger after overnight vandalism in Raphoe

There was great disappointment in Raphoe today after the discovery of overnight vandalism on the Diamond.

Trees and flower displays were ripped up and scattered across the town centre overnight, leaving a trail of soil and mess this morning.

The Raphoe Tidy Towns group expressed their frustration at the incident.

A spokesperson said: “This destruction is an insult to our Tidy towns staff, volunteers, towns people and business people who support our work for the town. We had a fairly quiet year with very little damage but this is unacceptable.”

Gardai have been informed of the incident, and the Tidy Towns group hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to account. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
