Mamma Mia! Actor Dominic Cooper surprises shoppers in Carndonagh

SuperValu in Carndonagh welcomed a celebrity shopper when Mamma Mia actor Dominic Cooper stopped by last week.

The UK star, who also stars in Preacher and Captain America: The First Avenger was spotted by eagle-eyed shoppers and staff last weekend.

One of the employees, Sarah Jane, was lucky enough to take a photo with the actor.

The SuperValu team were delighted to have Cooper visit their store. While every customer is a special guest, it’s not every day that they get to meet a Hollywood celebrity!

It remains a mystery as to what brought Cooper to the Inishowen area. However, it is not uncommon for celebrities to visit Donegal as movie buzz continues to grip the county this year.

Romantic drama, Cry from the Sea, is shooting at Malin Head this month, while music-themed film Trad was filmed in the Gweedore area in July.

Pierce Brosnan, Helena Bonham Carter and Gabriel Byrne filmed Four Letters of Love, in some of Donegal’s most scenic areas in Spring, including Glenveagh and Narin/Portnoo.

Movie fans are also eagerly waiting for the release of In The Land of Saints and Sinners (starring Liam Neeson and Ciaran Hinds) which was shot in south west Donegal last year. The thriller is set to premiere at the 80th Venice International Film Festival in September.
