Two drivers who were stopped for speeding in Letterkenny were also found to be under the influence of drugs.
The detections were made by the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit today (Sunday).
Both drivers failed roadside drug tests by testing positive for cannabis. One of the drivers was also found to have a small quantity of suspected cannabis in their possession.

A number of motorists were also fined for breaking the speed limit in the Letterkenny area today. One such detection was a vehicle being driven at 139KPH in a 100KPH speed zone.
Gardaí took to Facebook with details of cases and issued this plea: “Slow down. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Lives can be wiped out in an instant on the roads. Don’t let lives be lost because of a poor decision you made.”
