Correcting Mulroy College student Aoife Gibbons’ Higher Leaving Cert Irish exam must have been a pleasure for whatever lucky examiner received her paper.

Aoife scored an incredible and very rare 100% in the exam.

Aoife received her first choice CAO offer of Primary teaching and also learned of her perfect score in Irish on the same day.

She has always had a love of the language and used every opportunity to speak it with staff and students.

Ms Fiona Temple, Principal of Mulroy College said Aoife’s achievement was something the entire school was proud of.

She said “We are very proud of Aoife and her fantastic achievement. To receive 100% in Higher level Irish is an incredible achievement. Aoife has worked so hard and is fully deserving of this incredible result.

“It is also testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff of Mulroy College and in particular her Irish teacher Ms Gallagher and the Irish department.

“We wish Aoife well in her future studies, she holds all the qualities necessary to become a great teacher herself.”
