Heartache as missing dog Sandi found dead

The heartbroken owner of a dog who went missing eleven days ago has announced that her body has been found.

Sandi, a one-year-old fox red Labrador from Muff, went missing from the Glen Road in Derry city at around 10.30am on Sunday, September 3.

Her devoted owner, Cathy Mullan, had been offering a cash reward for her pet’s safe return as she feared Sandi may have been stolen or got lost.

Three days ago, Cathy received reports that Sandi had been hit by a car. Sadly, she discovered her beautiful pet’s body in a local wooded area.

In an update on Wednesday, devastated Cathy posted: “Hi Everyone. This is the saddest thing I’ve ever had to write.

“New information came to light 2 days ago that someone had seen Sandi hit by a car on the Glen road on that Sunday morning at 10.30am.

“She was seen getting up and running into the back garden.

“We followed this up and her wee body was found in a wooded area in the back of the Glen.

“She is now home with me and buried in the back garden.”

Cathy added that she is “just glad” to now know what happened to her poor pet and she also thanked the public for “all your support and messages.”

“I love you Sandi and will miss you more than you’ll ever know. RIP my angel xxx,” posted Cathy.
