The gang are also understood to have stolen property from Smyths Toystore.

In a short statement to Donegal Daily, Gardaí said that they have received a report about a number of thefts in Letterkenny this morning, and that their enquiries are currently ongoing.

Owner of Watson Hire, John Watson confirmed that more than €1,500 worth of powertools has been stolen from his premises.

The gang are understood to be traveling in a grey car and may have Dublin accents.

He told Donegal Daily “We have contacted Gardai and we want other stores to know about these people.

“We believe that they have already hit a number of other stores in the town.

“They simply walked into the store. lifted the tools and walked out without paying.

“We have good CCTV footage of these people and we have been in contact with the Gardai.

“If anybody else has been hit they should report it to Gardai also so we can track their movements.”
