The Chinese Ambassador to Ireland has made a visit to Donegal, attending a meeting with council officials in Lifford.
The meeting took place at the Donegal County Council offices in Lifford on Friday afternoon, with Cathaoirleach Cllr Martin Harley and Council Deputy Chief Executive Liam Ward welcoming Ambassador He Xiangdong and his wife, Madam Xia Lining, to the county.
According to Donegal County Council, economic development, trade, investment and opportunities to explore areas of cooperation between County Donegal and local Chinese governments were discussed at the meeting.
A number of gifts were also exchanged, with the Council saying that “…the visit gave an opportunity to show what Donegal has to offer as a great place to visit, live, work and do business”.
