Gardai in Inishowen have launched a crackdown on safety on local roads.
As part of ongoing co-ordinated activity aimed at reducing the number of people being killed on Irish roads, An Garda Síochána are conducting multi-agency checkpoints nationwide.
On Friday last , Gardaí from Buncrana Roads Policing Unit were joined by Inspectors from the Office of the Revenue Commissioners as well as those from the Road Safety Authority Ireland to conduct a number of checkpoints.
A number of offences were detected.
A Garda spokesperson said “Please always ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition before setting off on a journey. Drive at a safe speed and stay alert. Make road safety a priority to help save lives.”
