A woman has pleaded with thieves to leave back a three month old foal which was stolen from lands in the Dunkineely area in recent days.

The foal (pictured) is named Arlo and belongs to local woman Laura Beirne Gormley.

An emotional Laura posted a video on Facebook in which she pleads with whoever has taken the foal to leave him back.

Laura said “He’s gone and somebody has taken him.

“I know people are saying ‘he’s just a foal’. But he’s more than just a foal to me, he is part of our family,” she said.

Laura pleaded with whoever has taken Arlo to get in contact with herself or with somebody else to arrange to leave him back.

Laura has also offered a reward for information which may lead to Arlo’s recovery.

“There is a reward out there and I will pay to get him back.

“He belongs back with his family and back with him mum. It’s heartbreaking. My heart is broke. I don’t know what to do. I have tried every avenue.

“Arlo belongs to us and to the people who took him – ‘Please just give him back.”
