Irish banks could give interest-free loans to mica homeowners – reports

It has been reported that three of Ireland’s biggest banks, AIB, Bank of Ireland, and Permanent TSB, could all offer interest-free loans to defective block householders.

A report by the Business Post today outlined that banks could offer interest-free loans to mica homeowners, up to 15 percent of their homeowner’s grant given by Government.

The proposed solution has been floated after many homeowners have accused banks of profiteering from the defective blocks crisis by offering high-interest loans, which they often require due to the Government repair grant being offered out in stages and leaving homeowners again out of pocket.
