National: three die in overnight traffic collisions

Three people have died in separate road traffic accidents overnight across the country.

A teenager, believed to be a pedestrian, was killed after a serious collision in Listowel, County Kerry last night at approximately 9:50pm. The driver and three other occupants of the car involved are believed to be unharmed.

Elsewhere, a man in his 40s died when he was struck by a car on the southbound section of the M1 motorway in County Louth, at Junction 16. The collision happened at around 2:45am early this morning.

Finally, a man in his twenties was killed in an accident in County Roscommon also in the early hours of this morning, when it is believed his car overturned.

Gardaí have appealed for information regarding all three incidents this morning.
