A man who died in a motorcycle collision on Sunday has been named as Arnie Whyte.
Mr Whyte, from Convoy, was travelling outside Glenties on Sunday afternoon when he was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash.
Arnie was a loving dad of two and a well-known friendly trucker who worked for Raphoe company Goudie Bros Transport Ltd.
A tribute from his employers described him as a great driver and friend.
“Arnie was one of our top drivers since January 2021, always saying yes to whatever the boss asked of him and he was guaranteed to make you laugh with his aul carry on,” said a tribute from Goudie Bros.
“His loss will be felt deeply here at Goudie Bros and beyond in the trucking world.
“Our deepest sympathies go to Arnie’s friends and family at this time.”
Mr Whyte will be laid to rest at St Ninian’s Church graveyard on Wednesday 11th October, following a service at his home.

Deeply regretted by his daughter Adrianna and son Anthony, extended family circle neighbours and friends. His remains will repose at his late residence from 8pm this evening Monday.
Service at his home on Wednesday 11th at 2pm with burial afterwards in St Ninian’s Church graveyard. Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only donation in lieu if desired to the society of St Vincent De Paul care of any family member or Terence McClintock funeral director.
The R262 road near Glenties was reopened this afternoon following examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed the collision on the R262 near Glenties shortly before 4pm on Sunday to contact them.
Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
