Coast Guard volunteers from Bunbeg will feature in tonight’s episode of the Tarrthálaithe na hÉireann series on TG4.

Ireland’s mountains, seas and coastline provide an irresistible draw for holiday makers, hikers and those seeking adventure. However, things can go wrong in the blink of an eye.

Tarrthálaithe na hÉireann follows the brave men and women of the Irish Coast Guard, Mountain Rescue Teams and Community Rescue Boats from across Ireland as they drop everything to come to the aid of those in need.

Some of the volunteers during filming.

Film production crews from Big Mountain Productions followed rescue teams during the Summer and into early Autumn of 2022, capturing the amazing yet challenging work carried out daily. This ranged from raising much needed funds at charity events to responding to emergency incidents in their local communities, with user generated content (UGC) created through the use of wearable tech and drones.

Volunteers from Bunbeg Coast Guard Unit based in West Donegal will feature on tonight’s episode with staff from Mulroy Coast Guard Unit set to feature in future episodes.

Tarrthálaithe na hÉireann will air at 8pm on TG4 (Also available on TG4 player).
