The funeral will take place this morning of John Flanagan, a man who gave his life to his family and the Twin Towns community.
The late Mr Flanagan, of Tircallen, Stranorlar, was an active member of the Church of Mary Immaculate, and, for many years, was involved in helping with various duties around the parish.
He was also a founding member of the Cúnamh charity. Cúnamh was founded in 1982 to raise funds for local emergencies and for families who find themselves in extreme difficulties.
Before retiring, John worked mainly in the construction sector.
Among the many tributes, he has been described as a family man and a gentleman who was always there to give help and advice to anyone who sought it.
Beloved husband of Marie and much loved father of Kathleen (Martin), Sean (Ann), Rose (Hugh), Bernadette (Ciarán), and the late Damien, cherished brother of Marie, Anna, also the late Bridie and Joe. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, sisters, grandchildren, Donna, Nathan, Jamie, Lauren, Jordon, Kayla, Caoimhe, Hannah Rose, Kyle, Aisling, Cormac, Darragh, Caolán, and Odhran, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Funeral leaving his home this morning at 10.25 a.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11 o’clock.
Interment afterwards in Drumboe Cemetery.
