Just under three weeks to go now to the close of nominations for the 2023 Donegal Sports Star Awards.
It’s been another good year in terms of success for teams and individuals across the County.
So it’s time to have those local, county, provincial, national and international achievements recognised at the Donegal Sports Star Awards function which takes place on Friday 26th January in the Mount Errigal.
To be there clubs and sporting organisations must get their nominations into the Donegal Sports Star committee by Friday 24th November.
Now in its 48th year the Donegal Sports Star Awards has honoured so many teams and individuals who have enjoyed success. Participation levels in sport is also taken into account as well as recognising the men and women who do the hard graft behind the scenes to enable sporting events to take place.
The Donegal Sports Star Awards Committee acknowledges volunteerism and dedication to a club or sporting body annually through the Appreciation category.
Among the winners over the past decade have included Patrick Brady (pictured above), Donegal Bay Rowing Club; Danny McGonigle, Clonmany Tug O’War; Tom Beag Gillespie, Gweedore GAA Club; John Wilkie, Letterkenny Shotokan Karate Club and Brid McGinty, Donegal Women’s League.
Closing date for nominations is Friday 24th November.
