Sean MacCumhaills are searching for a new management team after their senior football management stepped down.
Mark O’Sullivan, Darren O’Leary and their coaching panel Gary Wilson and Mickey McMahon left their positions in recent days.
Paul McCauley and Chris Doherty who have also stepped down from reserve management for the 2024 season.
The club thanked the outgoing management teams for their commitment.
A statement from the club said “Sean MacCumhaills C.L.G would like to thank Mark O’Sullivan, Darren O’Leary and their coaching panel Gary Wilson and Mickey McMahon who have stepped down from their roles as our senior football team management and Paul McCauley and Chris Doherty who have stepped down from reserve management for the 2024 season.
“The sacrifice and effort shown by the management team over the past two years has brought the standard of senior football to another level within Sean MacCumhaills and left the bar very high for those who wish to wear the white Jersey of Sean MacCumhaill’s, for far too long we sat mid table in division 2 and thanks to this management team we pushed through that barrier and regained Division 1 status in 2022 and retained it in 2023.
“Our quarter final game vs Glenswilly this year perfectly demonstrated the steel and drive that now exists within our team and this is down to the and standards set out by the outgoing management team, their dedication to believing in promoting youth within the panel was exemplified by having six teenagers playing that day, and showing the county the talent that exists within our club.
“The sadness at a loss was quickly eroded with excitement and joy created by watching the success of the senior panel this year, and the large crowds attending matches home and away is testament to the huge buzz that existed within the club this summer.
“We would like to wish Mark, Darren, Mickey, Gary, Paul and Chris the best in whatever they choose to do for 2024.”
