Gardaí in Letterkenny have been praised for recovering a stolen bike yesterday.

The mountain bike was taken on Thursday morning from behind the Good and New Charity shop in Letterkenny, leaving the young owner devastated.

The thief was caught on CCTV footage taking the grey bike and making off in the direction of the Polestar.

Fortunately, following a public appeal and search, gardaí got the bike back last night.

“The bike has been recovered and a happy boy will be getting a lock from Santa this year,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Well done to the Gardaí in Letterkenny and to all who helped.”
