Milford & District Resource Centre will host a Movember Check In for men of all ages on Monday, November 27th from 7pm in The Gallowglass Community Centre.

All men are encouraged to come along to hear from a few key speakers, including Bill Vaughan from Mental Health Ireland; Dr Pádraig McGuinness, GP; and Kevin Dooher, The Wild Atlantic Traveller.

There will be a number of information stalls on the evening covering a variety of men’s health topics and issues. There will also be free blood pressure checks on the night.

“We are delighted to be facilitating this event on Monday 27th and we’d like to thank the speakers for giving up their time for it,” said Declan Meehan, manager of Milford & District Resource Centre.

“There is always a need for conversations and information around men’s health and November is the ideal time to do that. Over recent years November has been used as to highlight men’s health issues like testicular and prostate cancers, as well as mental health and male suicide. This informal evening will give men of all ages the opportunity to come and hear about some of these pressing men’s health topics, and more, in a non-clinical environment.”

There will also be an opportunity for men in attendance to express their views on what sort of events and activities they would like to see take place in the local community, particularly in the new Gallowglass Community Centre.
