Donegal County Councillors have given approval for the construction of ten new social houses in Tamney.
The development at Mulroy View will comprise of four one-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom housing units, two three-bedroom housing units and two four-bedroom housing units.
The site is located 200m from the village of Tamney, adjacent to the established Mulroy View housing estate.
A new wastewater treatment plant is to be provided for both developments.
Councillors were told that the development of the site provides an “excellent opportunity” for a small rural residential development to support the local community of Tamney including the local primary school, local shop and health centre located close-by.
The council-owned site area comprises of 0.81 hectares and will be developed to provide high-quality and sustainable homes under the government’s Housing for All Plan.
