On Saturday night last, 2nd December the Donegal Open 2023 was held in Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey.

With over 150 players that entered for the Youths, Ladies and Men’s Open events. The standard was very high from the very start of all competitions.

In the Men’s Competition Derry’s Gavin Carlin was back to his best when he won the competition for a third time after he beat Donegal’s Alan Hegarty in a very close affair when the first 4 legs went against the throw but Gavin stepped up his game and eventually won 7-4.

In the Ladies Competition Denise Cassidy retained her title for the fourth time when she played a very high standard and beat Valerie Rooney in the final.

In the Youth’s Competition young Jack Porter following his good runs at the INDO youth competition beat a very strong Donegal Youth field competition of players and beat Gareth Brennan in the Final to win his first Donegal Youth title.
