Rosses AC reflects on a successful year on and off the field

Rosses AC has reflected on another very successful year while planning ahead for the next one.

It’s almost the end of another calendar year and, for our club, another year to look back with great memories and pride at what has been achieved.

The progression of the club continues and this can be seen in so many aspects from on the field with the number of great performances and medals won.

There is also a lot to celebrate off the field and what is happening at the track, coaches, volunteers, etc. Our recent awards nights have shown the great numbers the club has at underage and at senior level. A strong indicator is the number of national medals and titles won and during these presentation nights it was mind blowing to see how many kids we had secure national medals and podium positions at indoor and outdoor track and field as well as cross country. Underage training will probably return on Thursday Jan 4th as the Indoor season kicks in.

A number of athletes also travelled to the NorthWest Games on Dec 28th in Athlone. For a few, it is a time to take a break and recharge the batteries while for others it’s a great chance to get extra training and maybe even a race or two who may not normally be able to get the time to do this. Locally there are quite a number of events scheduled if people are looking to take in a few events. The club would like to wish all of our coaches, officials, volunteers, athletes and parents a very happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.
