Gardaí have issued further appeals in relation to the theft of industrial wheelie bins.

In light of this, they advise business owners to ensure bins are well secured and that their CCTV is fully operational at all times. Last week, it was reported that two such items were stolen in the Castlefin area on December 17.

Meanwhile, another two industrial wheelie bins were stolen from the rear of Letterkenny Retail Park on Wednesday December 27 between 8pm and 8.40pm.

“We are interested in any sightings or dash cam footage of a white transit van in the area between those times,” Garda Sergeant Eunan Walsh said.

The van is believed to have travelled in the area of the Polestar roundabout following the incident. Any relevant information can be passed to Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

Another two industrial sized wheelie bins were stolen from a business premises in the Industrial Park, Bridgend. They were taken some time between 7pm on Saturday, December 30, and 5am on Sunday the 31st. If anybody can assist with relevant information they should call Buncrana Garda Station on 074-9320540.

The Garda Confidential Line can also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
