Molloy & Sons is a small 6th generation family run weaving business based in Ardara Co. Donegal specialising in producing authentic Donegal tweed fabric and woven accessories for the fashion and interiors markets.
We are looking to hire a General Operative – Weaving and Dispatch Assistant, this is a very varied role and tasks will include production, dispatch and transport.
This is a full-time role based at our Weaving Mill in Ardara.
Previous weaving experience is not necessary, Full training will be given.
Key Requirements:
- A good work ethic and physical strength as there will be lifting of boxes and rolls of cloth.
- Full clean driving licence essential
- Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a small team
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- Good manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination.
- Ideally experience of working in manufacturing or trade environment.
- Ability to identify and distinguish between different colours of yarn.
- Good numeracy skills
Duties to include:
- Assisting in the setting up and operation of Dornier power looms and other textile machinery.
- Packing of orders (boxes and rolls of cloth) ready for dispatch
- Driving of company van and making collections and deliveries as necessary
- Have a flexible approach to working & be a good team player.
- Any other additional duties as assigned by the supervisors or Directors as required.
- Undertake all training as required by the company.
