Hopes that power can be restored across Donegal today

There is light at the end of the tunnel for the hundreds of Donegal residents without electricity following Storms Isha and Jocelyn.

Power restoration work is entering a crucial stage today, with some residents, including over 400 in Milford, relieved to have their supply back this morning.

But others have just a while longer to wait after four days of darkness.

ESB Networks Powercheck estimates that supply will be restored to all homes and businesses by 8.15pm this evening (Thursday).

Some, such as the remaining 102 customers in Milford, can expect faults to be repaired after lunchtime.

The main areas where customers remain without power include Newtowncunningham, Carndonagh and Milford.

A spokesperson for ESB sai all available ESB Networks resources are deployed across the county. This includes crews and partner contractors who have travelled from less impacted areas of the country.

The company has apologised for the disruption to family and commercial life that the outage causes and thanked customers across the county for their patience as our crews work to safely restore power.

Real-time status on power restoration is being updated regularly and is available on www.PowerCheck.ie and www.ESBNetworks.ie.
