Donegal 1-09 v 1-03 Westmeath
Donegal Ladies bounced back to form with a strong performance against Westmeath in Letterkenny this afternoon.
Donegal came out of the gates with control of the contest, with two first-half scores for Katie Dowds accompanied by points from Eva Gallagher, Suzanne White and Nicole Gordon giving Donegal a comfortable 0-05 to 0-01 lead at the break.
Despite a slower start to the second half, Donegal were able to find their momentum again with a string of scores as the game entered its final quarter – Nicole Gordon, Tara Hegarty, Jodie McFadden and Katie Dowds all grabbing points within a 10 minute spell.
Westmeath were able to grab a consolation goal late in the second half – but in the game’s dying embers Donegal proved they still had plenty left in the tank as Suzanne White tucked away a goal to seal an emphatic victory in O’Donnell Park.
