The drugs involved are believed to be crystal meth.

The operation is described as being live and ongoing and the exact amount of drugs has not been determined yet.

It’s understood there are significant international elements to the drug smuggling which has been uncovered.

Follow-up searches are being conducted in Tralee, elsewhere in Kerry, and in Co Cork.

A garda spokesman said as this is a live investigation, and gardai will not be commenting at this time.

It’s understood that the detection has resulted from the work of the divisional drugs team in Kerry and local detective units.
