Gardaí have issued an appeal after the latest theft of number plates from a car in Inishowen.

A resident of Glentogher, Carndonagh, reported the incident which occurred sometime between February 12th and the 14th.

The car in question was parked in a yard and it had been off the road for some time. The plates have a partial registration of 08 DL 126. A number of similar type thefts have taken place across the peninsula in recent months.

“Should anybody ever have their registration plates stolen, we advise them to alert Gardaí immediately as these plates could later be used in an illegal capacity,” Garda Sean Sweeney said.

“We urge the public to always report any type of suspicious activity to Gardaí immediately.”

If anybody observed any suspicious activity in the Glentogher area between February 12th and the 14th, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540. The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
