Main pic: Rosses AC athletes who competed at the 3k in Letterkenny on St Patrick’s Day.

A number of Rosses AC members took part in the Letterkenny St Patricks Day 3k over the weekend and we saw a fast and furious race.

Shane O’Donnell took a break from marathon training to show he certainly has the speed over the shorter distance too, finishing 9th in 09:24 with a 3:08 average km pace. Declan Gallagher once again showed he is fired up this year finishing 18th (3rd M40) in 09:58 a super 3:19 average K pace. Patrick Trimble is starting to crank up the speed again taking the M50 win in 10:25. Cathy Breslin decided to get out for a sharp blast and made it worth her while winning the F50 category in 12:44. Angela Trimble also towed the line working her way round in a nice time of 18:04.

A number of athletes took part in the Dungloe ParkRun on Saturday but for many it was either a rest weekend or a weekend to get in extra training.

The focus for the juveniles at the minute is on the upcoming All Ireland Indoors in Athlone with Day 1 taking place this weekend for our u12 and u13 high jumpers while Day 2 and 3 are scheduled for April 6th and 7th. Training continues at Carrickfinn for Juveniles on Mondays and Thursday at Carrickfinn at 6pm while senior training sessions are in Dungloe on Mondays and Wednesday and Gaoth Dobhair Tuesday and Thursdays.
