Donegal GAA have officially launched a fundraising drive, aiming to push the county forward following the return of senior men’s manager Jim McGuinness.
They also revealed their new-look website at the launch event this evening, with the long-awaited updates greatly modernising the site for fans.
The new fundraising drive, called Cairde Dhún na nGall, will try to increase investment at all levels of the game at an inter-county level, with various perks being offered to supporters who donate.
A total of five tiers are available at launch with a raft of different perks available.
The cheapest fundraising tier costs €350 per year, with the most expensive tier reaching €5,000 a year.
“This has been in the making for some time,” the Chairperson of Donegal GAA Mary Coughlan told Donegal Daily at the launch.
“It’s not just for football,” Coughlan continued.
“It’s for football, it’s for senior hurlers and for all of our academy, and the talent we need to nourish, support and develop.”
“Anyone who is in the GAA will realise it’s very expensive to run a club, and it’s equally if not more expensive to run a county, so we’re very anxious (to build) on the crest of the enthusiasm we have here in Donegal… and reach out more to our supporters.”
