Downings woman Tanya Roberts Browne has been elected as the new Chairperson of the GAA Wheelchair Hurling/ Camogie working group.

A disability advocate and early years education provider, Roberts Browne brings extensive experience and expertise in disability, diversity, and inclusive practices to this position.

Tanya has been chairperson of Bord na nÓg and PRO of her local club Na Dunaibh, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and a deep understanding of the issues pertinent to the GAA’s objectives.

Sinead Crowley from Cork was also announced as chairperson of the GAA Equity, Diversity and Inclusion working group yesterday.

“We are delighted to have both Sinead and Tanya assume the roles” said Geraldine McTavish, GAA Diversity and Inclusion Manager.

“Their leadership will undoubtedly steer the working groups towards accomplishing our strategic objectives and advancing our mission to increase awareness of the GAA wheelchair Hurling/ Camogie sport, football for all sport and the wide brief of the Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

“Their passion for excellence and commitment to driving positive change will be invaluable assets as we work together to address the challenges and opportunities ahead.”

Please join us in congratulating Sinead and Tanya on their appointments as the new Chairperson of the Committees. We look forward to their leadership and continued contributions to the success of our organisation.
