Arranmore Island is set to host the biggest stars in music this summer!

Three major festivals are taking place with acts including, The Whistlin Donkeys, One For The Road, Derek Ryan, Jimmy Buckley, Philomena Begley, Patrick Feeney, Rhythm and Sticks, David Craig, Paul Kelly, My Generation, The McConnells,  Sean Corrigan, Keelan Browne, Conor O Donnell, Ronan McGinty, Aidan Quinn, Barry McGeown, Jack Keogh, Jordan McPolin and Shaun McMonagle.

Well known DJ and promoter Thomas Costello of T.C Promotions has gathered this dream line-up of music stars to the Island.

“Arranmore has so much to offer to people and continues to be a popular tourist destination thanks to its amazing scenery, culture and proximity to the mainland” says Thomas.

“We wanted to be able to offer an entertainment package to match this unique location and that’s just what we have done with something for everyone’s taste, we have been organising music festivals on the island for over a decade and we love welcoming back regular attendees and introducing newcomers to our unique festival location. We have accommodation to suit everyone from couples to large groups, something for everyone.”

Rock on the Rock

The sizzling summer line-up begins with Rock on the Rock on 10th & 11th May.

David James of Highland Radio will also be making a trip to Arranmore Island on Sunday 12th May with a large contingency, his band and special guests finishing off the weekend with a Sunday Session.

Arranmore Country Fest – August

The music continues in August with the Arranmore Country Fest celebrating its twelfth consecutive year on 24th & 25th August with the annual jiving competition making its return also.

Arranmore Country Fest – September

Don’t pack away your dancing shoes just yet as the excitement continues on 21st & 22nd September!

All of the events are held on the grounds of the picturesque Arranmore Holiday village in a state of the art purposely built and heated marquee with a fully licensed late bar and food services on site.

Accommodation offerings include the modern and luxurious Arranmore Holiday Village, self catering houses and apartments, cozy B & Bs, glamorous glamping pods or designated campervan site with amenities including shower facilities and electric hook-up for your campervan.

The events are all sold as a package offering with accommodation, return ferry and all the weekend’s music.

For those locally or who cannot stay the night there will be late crossings to return people to the mainland each night after the festival but please note due these must be pre-booked on the numbers below.

“We are delighted to have these music stars of the business coming to the island said Thomas and none of it would be possible without our partners at the Arranmore blue ferry without which these events wouldn’t be possible. It has also been a great help and support having the Letterkenny Shopping Centre and Herron’s Auto Donegal Town as sponsors for our Country Weekends this year and we thank them for their endorsement.”

Thomas would like to acknowledge and thank the Donegal County Council and especially Donegal Tourism, its associate members committee and his peers on the board of directors for their support and guidance.

“We are excited also to be launching a promotional campaign and competition centred on everything Arranmore Island has to offer in partnership with Sarah Nolan head of tourism at Donegal County Council.”

T.C Promotions is not finished with their summer of live music yet either: “We are delighted to announce that thanks to partnership with Udaras na Gaeltachta and Pleanáil Teanga Árainn Mhór that Arranmore will host its first Fleadh this September also, with more details coming soon. We will also be hosting the return of the Sunday Summer Sessions on the island which were made popular during lockdown.”

Thomas also went on to add that there is one more major act to be announced this summer for Arranmore Island and to stay tuned.
